Google Ads vs Facebook Ads in Pakistan comes down to intent. Google shows your ad to people already searching for what you sell, so leads cost more but buy sooner. Facebook and Instagram find people who were not looking yet, at cheaper clicks, which suits visual products, offers and local brand building. Most growing businesses end up using both.
Key takeaways
- Google Ads captures existing demand; Meta ads create it. Pick by how your customers buy, not by click price.
- Published Pakistani ranges: Google service-keyword clicks around PKR 30–200, Facebook clicks around PKR 10–400 with a wider spread.
- Urgent, high-ticket services lean Google. Fashion, food, events and impulse products lean Meta.
- Under roughly PKR 40,000 a month in total spend, pick one channel and do it properly before splitting.
Quick verdict: which is better, Google Ads or Facebook Ads?
Neither is better across the board. If a customer types "plumber near me" or "laptop repair Hall Road", Google Ads wins because you appear at the moment of need. If a customer would never search for your product but will buy when they see it, such as a new lawn collection or a burger deal, Facebook and Instagram win.
In the accounts we manage, the wrong choice usually comes from comparing cost per click. A Facebook click can be cheaper, but a Google lead often converts at a higher rate because the person asked for it. The fair comparison is cost per paying customer.
If people search for it, start with Google. If people need to see it to want it, start with Meta. If both are true, test both with separate tracking.

Click ranges come from Softvirtue's published Google vs Facebook comparison for Google and DigitalPakistan's 2026 guide for Facebook. Treat them as planning ranges; your auction will differ by city, sector and season.
WhatsApp matters on both sides. Pakistani buyers prefer to message before they commit, so Meta's click-to-WhatsApp ads and a WhatsApp button on your Google landing page often outperform plain forms.
Google Ads vs Facebook Ads: Pakistan cost in PKR
Both platforms run auctions, so there is no rate card. The figures below combine published Pakistani agency guidance with the hidden costs most first-time advertisers miss.
| Cost item | Google Ads | Facebook Ads |
|---|---|---|
| Suggested minimum ad spend | PKR 20,000–30,000 | Around PKR 500/day to start |
| Spend for steady leads | PKR 50,000+ (estimate) | PKR 45,000–180,000 |
| Agency management | From PKR 15,000–35,000 | PKR 15,000–35,000+ |
| Bank tax and FX on card payments | Roughly 15–25% on top (estimate) | Roughly 15–25% on top (estimate) |
| Creative production | Low: text and landing page | Higher: photos, video, Reels |
Sources: Google minimum spend and management from Softvirtue's Google Ads page; Facebook daily budget from DigitalPakistan; Facebook monthly spend from Softvirtue's Facebook ads page. Card payments to foreign ad platforms also attract provincial sales tax, such as the 13% Sindh levy reported by ProPakistani.
The hidden cost on Meta is creative. Ads tire within weeks, so you need a steady flow of new photos and short videos. On Google, the hidden cost is the landing page: a slow or generic page raises your CPC and lowers conversions. Which is best for your business type and budget
This decision matrix reflects how buyers in each sector usually behave in Pakistan. It is our practitioner view, not a published study, so test it against your own data.
| Business type | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Clinics and dentists | Patients search treatment + area | |
| Emergency and home services | Urgent, search-led demand | |
| Real estate projects | Both | Search for intent, Meta for reach and video |
| Fashion and lawn brands | Meta | Visual, impulse, Reels-driven |
| Restaurants and cafes | Meta | Deals and visuals; Maps for search |
| Schools, academies, universities | Both | Search at admissions, Meta for parents |
| Ecommerce, higher-priced products | Google Shopping + Meta | Comparison shoppers plus retargeting |
| B2B exporters (Sialkot, Faisalabad) | Foreign buyers search product + supplier | |
| Events and launches | Meta | Short window, needs awareness |
| Total monthly spend | Recommended split |
|---|---|
| Under PKR 40,000 | One channel only, matched to the table above |
| PKR 40,000–100,000 | 70/30 toward your main channel; small retargeting on the other |
| PKR 100,000–300,000 | Both channels with separate tracking and goals |
| PKR 300,000+ | Full funnel: Search, Shopping or YouTube, Meta prospecting and retargeting |
Property is the clearest case for both. Buyers search for "plots in Bahria Town" on Google, while Meta video ads build interest among overseas Pakistanis who were not searching yet. Our Facebook ads for real estate page covers that side, and a real estate CRM keeps leads from both channels in one pipeline. Clinics, by contrast, usually do better starting with Google Ads for doctors.
Pakistan-specific factors that change the answer
Global comparisons miss several things that shape results here. These are the factors we weigh before recommending a channel to a Pakistani business.
- Roman Urdu and mixed-language searches. Many local searches are typed as "AC repair wala" or "ghar ka naqsha". Google can match these if you add them as keywords; Meta has no search terms to target, so language lives in your creative instead.
- Cash on delivery and order refusals. Meta can produce many cheap orders, but COD refusals eat margin. Judge Meta ecommerce campaigns on delivered orders, not placed orders.
- WhatsApp-first buyers. Lead forms on Facebook are easy to submit and easy to forget. A WhatsApp conversation usually signals stronger intent on either platform.
- Overseas Pakistanis. Property, education and gifting brands can reach diaspora audiences in the UAE, UK and USA, where clicks cost far more than at home. Budget for those markets separately.
- Seasonality. Ramadan, Eid, wedding season and admissions shift costs on both platforms. Meta CPMs tend to rise when many brands push sales at once (our observation, not a published figure).
- Payments. Both platforms are usually paid by card, with bank tax and FX on top. Our guides on paying for Google Ads and paying for Facebook ads cover declines and card limits.
Account ownership applies to both. Insist that the Google Ads account, Meta Business Manager, ad account and pixel are created under your business, with you as admin. If you change agencies later, you keep the history and audiences you paid for.
Using both together
The channels work best as a relay, not a contest. Meta introduces people to your brand; some of them later search for you by name on Google, where a cheap brand campaign catches them. Google visitors who leave without enquiring can then be retargeted on Instagram.
- Track each channel separately
Use UTM tags, separate WhatsApp numbers or pre-filled messages so you know which platform produced each lead.
- Give each a different job
Google captures searchers; Meta builds demand and retargets. Do not judge Meta prospecting on Google's cost per lead.
- Share audiences
Feed website visitors and customer lists into both platforms for retargeting and lookalikes, within each platform's policies.
- Review cost per customer monthly
Move budget toward the channel producing paying customers, rather than toward cheaper leads.
We manage both under one roof: see our Google Ads management and Facebook and Instagram ads management services. If you are still deciding whether paid search is worth it at all, run the numbers in is Google Ads worth it for a small business.
How to choose and what to do next
- Write down your profit per customer and how quickly a buyer usually decides.
- Check whether people search for your service: Google Keyword Planner or simply type it with your city.
- Pick the starting channel from the matrix above and set a 60–90 day test budget.
- Set up tracking for calls, forms and WhatsApp before launch.
- Add the second channel only when the first is producing customers at a known cost.

Frequently asked questions
Which gives faster results, Google Ads or Facebook Ads?
Google Ads usually produces enquiries faster for search-led services, because ads reach people already looking and can bring calls within days of approval. Facebook Ads can also start quickly, but the algorithm needs a learning phase with enough conversions before results stabilise. For urgent services choose Google; for a short promotion with strong visuals, Meta can move faster.
Which is cheaper in Pakistan, Google Ads or Facebook Ads?
Facebook usually has cheaper clicks and impressions, with published ranges from around PKR 10 per click, while Google service keywords tend to sit around PKR 30–200. Cheaper clicks do not mean cheaper customers. Google leads often close at a higher rate, so compare cost per paying customer after a fair test rather than click prices.
Can I run Google Ads and Facebook Ads at the same time?
Yes, and most growing businesses should once budget allows. Give each a separate job: Google for people searching, Meta for awareness and retargeting. Track them separately with UTM tags or distinct WhatsApp numbers. On budgets under roughly PKR 40,000 a month, master one channel first, because splitting thin budgets leaves both with too little data.
